Want to get your Jigoshop site going this week? Well, here’s a great new theme, and a way to start using Affiliates to boost your sales.
The Aventador theme has been designed by Alex Gurghis to be beautiful and flexible, with custom widgets, shortcodes and a choice of seven colours. It supports digital downloads alongside physical products, and includes elements such as sub-categories. Well worth checking out, along with all the currently available Jigoshop themes.
Affiliates Jigoshop Integration Light probably isn’t the catchiest name you’ll ever hear for a plugin, but don’t be fooled – it’s incredibly useful. Affiliate marketing can be incredibly powerful and this free plugin allows you to set a referral (comission rate), and referrals will be automatically created for your affiliates when sales are made. You’ll also need to install the free Affiliates plugin to work in conjunction with the integration plugin, but then you’re good to go.
It’s been developed by Kento at ITThinx, and if you like the effect the free version has on your sales, it leads in directly to the Affiliates Pro Integration Pack, which includes even more features and ways to improve your affiliate marketing. So you get a chance to see how well affiliates will work for your business, and then upgrade to the more powerful plugin when you’re ready!
The Affiliates Pro Jigoshop Integration Pack allows you to manage all affiliate activity for your store directly within Jigoshop itself, giving you complete control on how your affiliates can promote your eCommerce business and how they are rewarded.
Affiliate marketing can be a valuable source of consumers, and it’s quick and simple to set up using this plugin. An unlimited number of affiliates can be handled, and each one can sign up automatically or be added manually to the system.
Once added, affiliates can be provided with embeddable links and banners, plus they are able to see stats and widgets which can be used to display referrals to your affiliates if you desire. Meanwhile you also get real-time reporting on how they are all performing.
How you set up affiliate rewards is down to you – use fixed, percentage or formula-based comissions, with custom formulas available, and these can be set across the board, or set for individual affiliates. And when it comes time to pay, you can use PayPal Mass Payments based on accumulated totals to settle with all your affiliates at once.
Installation note: Please note that the installation procedure is slightly different to most Jigoshop plugins – in this case, the zip file you purchase actually contains two zip files along with a readme.txt instruction file, and it will be these two zip files that should be uploaded in the correct order for the plugin to work.
Once the plugin is running, the SMS messages will be sent out automatically to keep you and your customers updated. And using SMS means you’ll reach everyone, regardless of which type of phone they use. Plus it’s a global solution, covering 150 countries and 400 mobile networks.
To use the plugin, you’ll need to register with Mediaburst for an SMS API account and buy credits, with prices starting at 100 for £5. For 5p, it’s a great way to keep close to your customers. And as Mediaburst have been providing SMS services since 2000, with clients as large as Tesco, Morrisons, Sky and O2, you know you can rely on them.
You can now integrate Jigoshop and BuddyPress to enable a shop solution for your own community or social network.
BuddyPress is a free and open source social network plugin which is a child project of WordPress and integrates to give you control over your own community – and now you can also include Jigoshop in the same site.
Developed by ThemeKraft, the plugin integrates Jigoshop information in member profile pages. Checkout, Member Data and Purchase History are also available in the profile page of each site member.
You also gain the ability to restrict downloadable products by time, with the download link and the time left displayed within a user profile.
The plugin synchronises all data so that any user updates to the billing address will apply across both services, for example, and it also contains a Fallback Save, which means if you decide to turn off Buddypress, everything will revert to normal Jigoshop pages. And installation should be incredibly simple – just activate the plugin and it should work straight away, with no need to play around with Admin options.
