The Jigoshop team today, after one of our users started posting the personal discussions between that individual and the developer, decided it was in the best interest of our company to write a guide on how to deal with third-party developers and their extensions.

First off,
When reporting an issue with a third party developer, it’s best to go directly to that developer. If you don’t know who to contact, feel free to post your issue here, and our staff and volunteers will do our best to either solve your issue or point you in the right direction.

Second,
These are public forums. It has always been against Jigoshop’s policy to post private conversations with the developers regarding your issues on our site. It is expected that since those conversations were private, they should remain that way. If the developer wants to release them he will. Oftentimes this helps our developers fix bugs that may have security issues before they can be exploited by others. No tolerance will be given to the posting of conversations here. As per the forum rules, which haven’t changed in over a year (though from time to time we go in and make things bold), posters will be banned immediately from the forums.

Third,
Should you find an issue that affects multiple plugins, we ask that you send only 1 email and attach all developers to the same email. It helps communication along.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in our forums (provided you follow the forum rules).
